UNLOCK THE POWER OF YOUR BRAIN...
Are you discouraged with your health and how you are feeling? Searching for solutions, not just temporary symptom relief?
Get the answers you sincerely desire by asking your "brain".
David M Fairbourn, PT, CNP, is a licensed physical therapist and certified neurolink practitioner. He combines several proven techniques, based in neuroscience, to help you feel, think and be... BETTER. These techniques have everything to do with the brain, and nothing to do with the mind. Neurolink's NIS system is the primary technique used by David during a treatment session. He will also teach you a simple but very effective stress/emotional release technique you can use every day to manage stressful situations more effectively.
What is Neurolink's® NIS (Neurological Integration System)?
NIS bases its treatment methods on the neurophysiology principle that the brain governs optimum function of all the body systems. This in essence makes the brain, not the practitioner, the most knowledgeable and qualified to diagnose and correct patient’s complaints. Our therapist, David Fairbourn, will be investigating the status of all your body’s function (glands, organs muscles, tendons, ligaments) as they work together - from the neurological point of view.
The brain controls optimum function, through its neurological circuitry. It is constantly receiving information from every facet of the body, and in turn sends back ‘fine tuning’ messages, many times per second. This means every cell, gland, organ, muscle, tendon etc. in the body is constantly monitored via these circuits to the brain.
When each of us were born, we were born with a DNA template unique to each of us. That template determines ‘normal’ and optimum function. The brain operates within the parameters of that template. The parameters of that template represent our individual tolerances. Muscles, glands, tendons, ligaments etc all have tolerances. The tolerances of one person are very different to those of the next. When the body ‘breaks down’ – physically, pathologically, chemically or emotionally, this means that there are tolerances that have been exceeded. Now symptoms of pain and illness start. There is now some body function that is working at a lowered potential.
NIS uses a set of prioritized treatment protocols that assess the function of all the body’s systems, and all the factors that have or could translate themselves to symptoms. These protocols will identify aspects of physiology that are not functioning to the potential of the respective individual. In evaluating the function of the body’s systems from a neurological point of view, this means the underlying CAUSES of symptoms are being addressed and not the symptoms themselves. Neurolink’s NIS leverages the brain’s profound ability to restore the body and all its systems to full potential.
The brain must be in control of ALL body function to:
1. Resolve the real underlying causes of pain, ill-health and disease
2. To get sustainable result for complaints
3. To get the body back working at optimum potential as it should be for that individual
|
Why Does The Body Break Down In The First Place?
The human body is born with maximum tolerances. One principle of neurophysiology is, the brain operates within a set of parameters, dictated by the unique DNA of each of us. When all body systems function within our individual ‘template’ of parameters we have great health. From time to time stresses cause our individual tolerances to be exceeded. They can be physical, pathological, chemical or emotional. This is when the body will start to show symptoms of pain and/or illness. An exceeded threshold may be thought of as a broken circuit.

What complaints may be helped by NIS?
Neurolink’s NIS addresses a full spectrum of complaints:
More importantly, you should understand HOW complaints are viewed with NIS. Prior to your NIS appointment, your complaint may have already been given a ‘label’: the name given to describe a particular group of symptoms. The list is infinite, but a few examples are: asthma, ADD, fybromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, dermatitis, and the list goes on. What these labels do is DESCRIBE symptoms, they do not ESTABLISH, causes. NIS does not treat the ‘label’ or the symptom pattern itself. Instead, it addresses the underlying issues driving the symptom pattern by restoring all the body’s systems to optimum function. As a matter of course, the symptom pattern will then resolve.
With that said, Neurolink’s philosophy is more concerned about the neurophysiological reasons that have caused your complaint than the complaint itself. For example if your complaint is allergies, NIS will address the reasons for the substance intolerance. If you depend on medication, NIS will address the reasons why you are needing to take the medication. If you have ongoing spinal pain and constantly need to have it manipulated, NIS will address the reasons why you need ongoing adjustments.

How Does Neurolink’s NIS Approach My Complaint?
The following examples may give further insight to some of the causal factors that are considered through the NIS protocols. The same principles will apply to other ‘labels’.
Allergies? ‘Allergy’ is a label given to the symptoms of incomplete digestive processing which in turn give rise to poor immune function. NIS screens for the reasons why proteins, fats, and carbohydrates have failed to metabolize to carbon dioxide and water. Viral, bacterial and fungal pathologies are investigated and addressed through this system. Allergies are also symptoms of inappropriate production of anti-inflammatory hormones, B-cells and T-cells. The dynamics that inhibit the utilization of these factors are investigated and resolved with NIS.
Asthma? Asthma is a label to describe a myriad of factors that collectively inhibit a person’s ability to breathe. NIS screens for allergy involvement (see explanation above), adrenal insufficiency, diaphragm restriction, craniosacral and spinal restriction, poor utilization of steroid hormones and immunoglobulins, inadequate control and function of glands such as the hypothalamus, pancreas and pituitary. All these factors are contributory to the ‘asthmatic’ label.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)? Diverticulitis and Crohn’s disease once again only label a batch of symptoms. As far as Neurolink is concerned they are expressions of incomplete digestion. This results in a chronic and toxic build-up to affect the liver, gallbladder, and pancreatic functions. Pain, constipation, diarrhoea, and bloating are symptomatic of this condition. Neurolink looks to screen for, and address why the body is not completing the digestion process.
Migraines? Migraines are essentially an expression to describe the ‘swelling’ or reaction of the pituitary gland to some foreign antigen. NIS sequentially ‘screens’ by priority for the many factors that collectively contribute to this issue. Implication of the pituitary gland can be exacerbated by viral, fungal and bacterial infection, breakdown in glandular interaction with the endocrine system, and cellular changes within the gland to name but a few.
Chronic Fatigue/M.E/Fybromyalgia? Chronic Fatigue/M.E is a symptom describing many factors contributing to metabolic disorders. NIS screens for all aspects including viruses, bacteria, and fungal pathologies. NIS will elicit and correct all issues that have deprived the brain of adequate glandular, digestive, arterial, and eliminative controls. These are all contributing factors to robbing the body of energy. Optimum health is just another expression for congruence between the brain and the body. Chronic fatigue in principle, is no different in its origins to any other disruption of functional physiology.

What makes NIS different to other methods of healthcare?
NIS – the brain is the most accurate and knowledgeable about your body. Thorough NIS doctors are able to access that information to determine real causes. The BRAIN makes the corrections needed by the body. Optimum function will never be achieved unless the brain is in charge. NIS evaluates all aspects of body function and their interdependencies with each other at any given time. Practitioners also evaluate the communication ’pathways’ between the brain and the physiology (the body). This is vital in order to establish real causes. Accessing the brain to determine dysfunction allow us to address factors that are not always possible to determine through scans and blood tests.
Heres an example: A blood test may reflect evidence that a patient has Hepatitis B. While limited treatment approaches are made to reduce/minimize the symptoms, no further investigation is made in traditional medicinal approaches to understand why the immune system has failed to recognize and deploy a counter attack on these antigens. Again…the symptom has been recognized, but the cause has not been considered. This forms the key difference between NIS and traditional approaches.
A More Accurate Approach to Diagnosis
Have you ever considered, that your current healthcare provider may be relying on what you tell him/her about your problem, to make a diagnosis?
What if you forget to tell him/her everything?
What if you have difficulty explaining your symptoms?
What if you don’t remember all your health care history?
What if your doctor overlooks something in your scans or lab results?
NIS relies 100% on the brain’s (neurological) feedback about your complaint, therefore any ‘diagnosis’ or findings must be completely accurate.
Consider just some of the following brain phenomena: The brain....
-
-
operates within a DNA template that dictates the individual ’normal’ for each of us
-
operates at 400 kilometres per hour, controlling 300,000 enzyme functions per minute
-
contains 100 billion active neurons, each with some 20,000 connections
-
interprets information from 260 million light receptors in the eyes
-
has a 280,000,000,000,000,000,000 file capacity for thought processing
-
is holographic

How are complaints addressed?
NIS involves a prioritized set of treatment protocols that evaluate all the neurological circuitry and the facets of body function they represent. This system in simple terms could be thought of like a list of ‘checks’ similar to one a mechanic would use when you put your car in for a service. These protocols evaluate all the causes that may have translated themselves in symptoms. NIS is unique. The practitioner is a facilitator in the feeding of data to and from the brain to find out which areas of body function the brain is not fully controlling, a muscle test is used. A muscle test* is a proven and established method of determining whether the brain is in full 'communication with body function'. The muscle test acts as a feedback indicator to determine any circuit that has broken down. *Muscle testing has been scientifically validated as an indicator of altered physiological function. D.A. Monti, et al, 1999.
In order for optimum function to be restored, the brain must acknowledge and reset the circuitry. To do this, contact with certain anatomical and cortical locations are made, together with a very defined area of the neuroanatomy called the post central gyrus. The post central gyrus is known as the message ‘receive and dispatch’ centre of the brain. When this area of the cranium is touched, merkels tactile disks associated with slow adapting receptors are stimulated. These mediate sensations which project centrally via the dorsal column medial lemniscus pathway (DCML). This is a neuro-pathway directly associated with the post central gyrus.
Try closing your eyes and have someone touch just one hair on your head. You will be able to tell exactly where they touched. That is the post central gyrus that allows you to relate to the sensation and its location. The same principle applies with NIS treatment. It is the post central gyrus that knows or ‘acknowledges’ the relationship between the anatomical contacts the doctor is holding. There are no electronics or instruments involved with NIS.

The NIS Patient Experience
At each visit the goal is to determine and address what aspects of your body function the brain is not fully controlling. The approach is very non-invasive, stress and pain-free. The makes NIS treatment suitable for the new born baby through to the very aged, and those that are very sick or injured. Care with NIS is tailor-made for you. Any changes made to your physiological function are instructed by the brain. The practitioner is just the facilitator. This makes NIS one of the safest healthcare options available.
Utilizing the brain to diagnose and correct your complaint will expose you to its profound ability to restore your body to its potential.
Only your brain holds the key to your optimum health.
